Welcome!

We aim to be a safe and fun environment where people can come together and enjoy radio controlled model aircraft. Our club is a member of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC), and therefore complies with all safety and legal requirements for insurance coverage provided through MAAC. Feel free to check out the MAAC website here if you want to learn more.

We fly at Warren Field, an aerodrome located just west of Komoka on Avro Drive. We fly mostly fixed wing aircraft (electric, gas, and glow fuel powered models). Because it’s an active strip for full size airplanes, we must always have at least two people there to monitor for inbound and outbound planes. You must be accompanied by a club member to fly there, but you can fly there as a guest for a limited time.

We also operate a secondary site at the Parkhill Conservation Area at Parkhill, where we fly float planes off the reservoir there. For safety and liability reasons, you’ll need to make arrangements with us if you want to fly there. We go there as a group about 6 times per summer, and draw participants from all of the surrounding area.

We welcome new members of all ages! We’re happy to share advice on suitable equipment for your interest, and we have a training program to help newcomers learn to fly. We can help student pilots learn to fly by operating a second transmitter that’s operated by a veteran pilot/instructor that can take control of a student’s airplane to demonstrate, make course adjustments, or avoid a crash.

At Warren field, pilots of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to fly together, share knowledge and tips, and enjoy each other’s company.
